We Took Over Co-Chairing of the learn4dev Network
We were happy to reconnect with learn4dev partners at the network’s annual meeting in Paris and update each other on the state of play in development-related activities. This year’s meeting discussions focused on ways to promote gender equality in training and learning.
Participating institutions discussed obstacles and biases that hinder gender equality in learning and, explored possible strategies to promote gender equality principles in all phases of training. The meeting was also a good opportunity to share experiences, practices, and tools to make learning environments gender-responsive.
At the meeting, we also took over the chairing of the network together with INTPA - European Commission's Directorate for International Partnerships. Our co-chairing priorities include promoting the co-creation of learning projects by encouraging collaboration among members of the network, identifying opportunities for sharing experiences, learning, and knowledge sharing, and finding synergies among member institutions through joint activities.
We have been an active member of the learn4dev network since 2008. Today the network counts 34 members, including bilateral donor organizations, multilateral organizations, and international training and research centers. Engaging in meaningful peer learning and knowledge sharing with many of the world's leading learning and knowledge institutions has had a profound impact on our own development as a learning organization.
The 2022 learn4dev annual meeting was co-hosted by Unesco International Institute for Educational Planning - IIEP and AFD - Agence Française de Développement. It took place on 16-18 November 2022, in Paris.
