We Presented Our Experience at the Launch of EU Strategy for the Alpine Region
We shared our experience from participating in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region at the launch of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region. Together with the City of Vienna, we lead the priority area on Institutional Capacity and Cooperation of the Danube Region Strategy. We use the extensive network of the Danube region for exchange of experience and developing capacities to foster effective local and regional cooperation.
Slovenia' s location at the junction of the Alps, the Dinaric Alps and the Mediterranean allows it to participate in three of four existing macro-regional strategies of the EU: Alpine, Danube, and Adriatic and Ionian. The EU Strategy for the Alpine region has been opened by Mr. Karl Erjavec, Slovenian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Ms. Corina Cretu, EU Commissioner for Regional Policy. All high national representatives of Alpine countries and EU stressed out that only effective cooperation and self-initiative could bring sustainable results and improve people's life in this region.
The Launch of the EU Strategy for the Alpine region took place at Congress Center Brdo pri Kranju.
