USAID Supports the Completion of the On-the-Job Training for Albanian Auditors

Sixteen internal auditors from Albania have successfully completed the On-the-Job Training (OJT) component of the Training of Internal Auditors in the Public Sector (TIAPS) program, designed to enhance local auditing practices in line with EU standards and Albania's strategic goals. This training, which combined both online and in-person sessions, focused on developing key competencies in Quality Assurance and Improvement Programs (QAIP) and Performance Auditing (PA) Planning.

The OJT followed a structured, blended approach. Participants started with an introductory guidance session, moved on to independent online learning with regular feedback, and concluded with an in-person workshop to review and finalize their deliverables. Divided into two groups, the auditors tackled real-world tasks, including drafting QAIP reports and performance audit plans. These assignments demonstrated their ability to apply international auditing standards to Albania’s local context.

Collaboration was a key element of the training, as participants worked together in groups to complete their assignments. The supportive learning environment and consistent feedback from tutors helped them refine their work and achieve high-quality results. Both regional and local tutors played an integral role, providing ongoing guidance and support throughout the process.

Participants successfully submitted QAIP reports and PA plans, showcasing their enhanced skills and understanding of international standards. Peer reviews and group work added depth to the learning experience and elevated the quality of the final deliverables.

To celebrate their achievement, the 16 participants will receive Certificates of Attendance during a ceremony in Tirana, Albania, on February 17, 2025. The successful completion of this TIAPS training underscores the value of practical, hands-on learning in professional development and highlights the importance of aligning local auditing practices with international standards.

This initiative was made possible by the generous support of the American People through the USAID.
