Seminar on Revenue Mobilization and Management in Sectors
The seminar on Good Financial Governance in Revenue Mobilization and Management in Sectors (RMMS) took place on June 15-16, 2016 as a concluding event of a project supported by the GIZ to help promote a better understanding of challenges and best practices in managing fees and charges levied at sector level.
The seminar summarized the RMMS project investigation of the complex list of regulations on levying charges and generating forms of revenues. The aim was to better guide and assist line ministries in the future by promoting a better understanding of challenges and best practices in managing fees and charges levied at sector level.
Officials, who were unable to join the seminar, had an opportunity to monitor the live stream through the CEF’s Online Learning Campus platform.
The discussion sessions addressed the results of the findings, the provision of quality services, and other challenges related to sector revenue mobilization. The audience learned about four real case studies from Albania, Moldova, Serbia, and Germany, giving an overview of how the fees and charges are levied in specific sectors. Apart from promoting knowledge sharing, these sessions aided in extracting general suggestions for the sectors at broad and helped strengthen the overall conceptual understanding of the topic.
The RMMS publication will be available this summer and will include background information and four country case studies, as well as reflect on the conclusions drawn during the seminar.
This CEF learning initiative was delivered with financial support from the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and complementary funding provided by the CEF.
