Certification Training Program for Accountants Contributes to Sound Public Management System in North Macedonia
Following a successful completion of the professional qualification training program for public sector accountants in Montenegro, we are proud and honored to be entrusted with a task to develop, design, and facilitate the implementation of the Public Accountants Certification Training (PACT) also in North Macedonia.
The North Macedonian authorities recognize the need to continue the institutional development in the area of public sector accounting as part of their on-going efforts to increase accountability, transparency and performance of the public financial management that is in line with the country’s reform programs and priorities. In this context they acknowledge the implementation of the PACT program as an integral part of helping them achieve set goals.
During the PACT program North Macedonian public sector accountants will learn about financial and management accounting specifics, as well as about national legislation and tax system, and they will be introduced with accrual accounting and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). This will in turn help them prepare better accounting and financial management information and give assurance to the management and donors of the proper use of funds.
We are currently also discussing adjustments to be made to delivery of PACT program in light of the challenges posed by the current pandemic, including the need to be moving the agreed activities to an online environment.
The PACT program in North Macedonia is financially supported by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Slovenia’s Development Cooperation.
