Knowledge Sharing – Key to Global Development
At the invitation of the World Bank, we recently joined more than 400 high-level representatives from 66 countries and 11 multilateral institutions at the High-Level Meeting on Country-Led Knowledge Sharing (HLM3) in Washington DC to share experiences and discuss future steps for developing country capacities for knowledge sharing in support of Sustainable Development goals (SDGs).
On the occasion we presented how the CEF enables public finance officials across South East Europe to introduce knowledge sharing cultures within their work environments, and to become successful communicators, motivators of reforms and leaders of learning processes within their institutions.
Serving as a knowledge hub, we have in recent years stepped up our efforts in identifying experts from our constituent countries, training them and involving them extensively in the delivery of our activities. We provide them a platform to get recognition for their knowledge and access opportunities to further strengthen their capacities as knowledge brokers and learning facilitators. Our train-the-trainer approach has been key to impact and sustainability across a broad range of CEF initiatives. It has allowed us to establish an extended community of regional trainers who advocate learning by sharing practice and improve reform bottlenecks.
To further promote the importance of knowledge sharing and its role in producing meaningful development results we captured the event’s highlights through the use of different social media. Please find the link here
As showcased during the HLM3, ministries, sector agencies and local authorities have advanced in their capacities to capture and share knowledge more systematically and we remain committed to supporting our constituency for further progress in this regard.
HLM3 was Co-hosted by the Government of the Republic of Korea and the World Bank Group and took place on March 30-31, 2016 in Washington DC.
