IMF, EC and SEE Representatives Reviewed PFM Reform Progress in SEE Region
The IMF, the European Commission and high-level representatives of ministries of finance and tax administrations from South East European countries met on June 5, 2018 in Ljubljana, Slovenia at the annual coordination meeting in the framework of EU funded capacity development programme “Strengthening Economic Governance and Public Financial Management” which is currently being implemented by the IMF in South East Europe. The meeting was facilitated by the CEF, which acts as a regional hub for the IMF’s technical assistance and organizes regional knowledge sharing events to support the project.
During the meeting representatives of IMF, European Commission and beneficiary countries Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia discussed their achieved progress, the proposed work plan for the upcoming year and their medium-term priorities. At the meeting Western Balkan partners voiced appreciation for the combined EU and IMF support for economic development in the region, which has bolstered our partners' efforts to fulfil the criteria for achieving EU membership.
