Exploring Domestic Revenue Mobilization for Sustainable Development: Trends and Best Practices from South East Europe

We are excited to announce the release of a new learning resource titled "Strengthening Domestic Revenue Mobilization for Sustainable Development: International Trends and Cases from South East Europe."

This publication marks a significant milestone in the "Strengthening Domestic Revenue Mobilization for Sustainable Development" project, a three-year capacity development initiative funded by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. From 2022 to 2024, the project contributed to a deeper understanding of effective approaches to strengthening domestic revenue mobilization to achieve sustainable development goals in South East Europe.

This collection of articles explores taxation and revenue collection as essential tools for financing the green transition, with a particular focus on the Western Balkans and South East Europe. It features insights from a series of workshops and events organized by the CEF in Ljubljana, which brought together experts from public institutions across the Western Balkans, Slovenian authorities, EU Member States, and international organizations. By fostering knowledge-sharing and strengthening professional networks, this publication aims to contribute to the ongoing dialogue on sustainable financing and the green transition.

The green transition presents both a unique challenge and an opportunity as we strive to reduce CO2 emissions and address climate change. This publication offers valuable perspectives on how to implement this transformation effectively and inclusively, ensuring that no community is left behind.

We hope this resource will prove to be a helpful tool for policymakers and practitioners working to advance sustainable development and the green transition in South East Europe. We invite you to download and explore the publication by following the link here.
