Deputy Minister of Finance of North Macedonia Welcomes New Generation of Public Sector Accountants
On September 30, 2020, public sector accountants from North Macedonia started with the first online lecture on financial accounting as part of the Public Accountants Certification Training (PACT) program. The Financial Accounting module will be delivered online at the CEF Online Learning Campus, through videos, assignments and online lectures.
North Macedonian public sector accountants will learn about the accounting fundamentals and principles of double-entry accounting, the preparation of accounting records that meet the standard financial statement assertions and requirements of selected International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and the work environment and ethical standards of professional accountants.
Deputy Minister of Finance of North Macedonia Mr. Dimitar Kovachevski welcomed the new generation of PACT students. Mr. Kovachevski expressed high hope that the successful completion of this professional qualification training program and receiving a certificate would be just a beginning of this generation of accountants’ continuous professional development and their contribution to the progress of the Republic of North Macedonia on the road to the EU membership.
Mr. Kovachevski also thanked the CEF for being a valuable partner in supporting professional development of public sector accountants in their country for years and contributing to the implementation of the important reform steps of the North Macedonian government in the area of public financial management.
The PACT program in North Macedonia is financially supported by the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Slovenia’s Development Cooperation.
