CEF Webinars Generate Learning
Skilled in monetary policy implementation, collateral management, emergency liquidity assistance procedures, and monitoring financial markets, Ms. Cilka Ferjančič has been sharing her knowledge of monetary policy and its implementation at many CEF learning events. This time, she was in another role, attending a course, and we used this opportunity to hear about her experience as a participant.
“As a senior analyst at Banking Operations in Banka Slovenije, I had the opportunity to participate in the CEF online course on Bank Recovery and Resolution. The webinar was led by an excellent lecturer Mr. Alexander Lehmann, an independent expert, who is also a professor at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and works as a consultant to a number of central banks in Eastern Europe.
The webinar was covering complex materials in a very well laid out and organized manner. Due to extensive content, it was divided into three sessions, with the last one offering the opportunity to exchange views among participants. As most of the participants were employees of central banks, working in banking supervision and resolution departments, they had a good background to share their opinions with others and actively participate in the course.
The program was extensive, explaining the key elements of the EU regime based on BRRD and the procedures and guidance implemented by the Single Resolution Board.
My work at Banka Slovenije does not involve resolution tasks, but the knowledge gained in this course is very valuable since I need to be informed with the resolution procedures, in case we would have to deal with a bank in default in monetary policy operations.
Many thanks to the lecturer and to the CEF team for a great webinar.”
