CEF Director Meets Moldovan Minister of Finance to Discuss Key Cooperation Points
On September 19, 2024, CEF Director Jana Repanšek met with Moldovan Minister of Finance Victoria Belous to further strengthen the ongoing collaboration between Moldova and the CEF. Ms. Repanšek acknowledged Moldova’s active role as a member of the CEF Governing Board, a key decision-making body that reviews progress, approves annual reports and addresses important strategic issues.
The meeting also covered Moldova’s participation in learning and knowledge-sharing opportunities under the FISR2 project, a multi-beneficiary capacity development initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by the CEF. Ms. Repanšek and Minster Belous discussed how the FISR2 project could support the Moldovan State Chancellery in designing and implementing priority structural reforms aimed at fostering growth, improving competitiveness, ensuring socio-economic convergence, and advancing EU accession while maintaining fiscal sustainability.
Additionally, Ms. Repanšek highlighted Moldova’s involvement in an upcoming study visit to the Ministry of Finance in the Netherlands, which will be organized as part of the National Bank of Moldova–Institutional Transformation into a Learning Organization (NBM LearnOrgLab) project. This initiative aligns with the CEF’s mission to help member institutions evolve into learning organizations by enhancing their human capital. Participants will discuss various human-resources-related topics, including talent and career management, traineeship and young talent programs, performance management, and leadership development.
This meeting reinforced the strong collaboration between the CEF and Moldova. Looking ahead, both sides are confident that this partnership will continue to flourish, further empowering Moldovan institutions to lead impactful reforms.
