About this learning event

The main objective of the jumbo meeting is to foster stronger connections among participants through guided networking, joint visioning, and listening to inspiring stories. The intention is to inspire, empower, and connect participants, enabling them to take ownership of a shared vision.

Young professionals play a crucial role in shaping resilient democracies and ensuring a better future for their countries. The Western Balkans are confronted by several economic, social and environmental issues. In most of the countries the EU accession process presents a framework for addressing these challenges. Meaningful involvement and leadership of the younger generation of civil servants is essential for the successful implementation of the comprehensive enlargement processes.

The meeting will bring together young public officials from the Western Balkans, representatives from their institutions, established leaders from the EU and the region, alumni members and others to engage in lively discussions about the capabilities modern leaders need to lead the complex EU integration processes.

The meeting will foster dialogue among the participants to propose a joint narrative for consolidating resilience in the Western Balkans and advancing the EU enlargement process. The discussions will aim to find innovative ways to re-imagine the future of the Western Balkans, while highlighting the importance of building relationships based on trust. The participants will be encouraged to explore their individual leadership potential through the lenses of curiosity and empathy, essential skills for strengthening reconciliation and collaboration efforts.

Empowering and actively involving young public officials in EU integration process is crucial for the region's sustained progress. Programs like the WeLead  equip young public officials with the knowledge and skills needed for effective leadership and regional cooperation. By actively participating in these efforts, young public officials can drive meaningful change and contribute to the successful integration of the Western Balkans into the European Union.
