About this learning event

As part of the “WeLead EU Scheme for Young Professionals in the Western Balkans” project, we will organize a webinar to raise awareness of the strategic development of human resources and talent retention. Western Balkan economies are among the most affected by brain drain in Europe and to effectively address this issue, the human resource function needs to be strengthened through the development of capabilities for effective human and institutional knowledge management.

At the webinar we will get to know Finnish Central Government Human Resources Strategy that is designed to align the Human Resources practices of the central government with its core values and future goals. A key aspect of the strategy is its collaborative nature. It was developed with input from all government employees and will be implemented with their active involvement. Overall, the strategy aims to create a resilient and adaptable workforce capable of meeting future challenges and supporting the goals of the Government Program.

Finnish Human Resources practices will be then compared with those in the Western Balkans. This comparison will be further supported by a policy paper created by a young public official within the WeLead project, identifying the factors that cause high turnover rates and focusing on retention policies within the public administration in the region.

Who should attend

Public servants working in HR, training and strategy departments. This webinar is intended to support an informal network of HR specialists from the public institutions in the Western Balkans to enhance regional knowledge sharing, transfer of best practices and peer-to-peer learning.
