About this learning event
Digitalization is an essential aspect of all modern processes, and Tax Administration must not overlook it. Significant work is required to plan for the introduction and updating of digital tools in this sector, with many risks that need to be observed. This annual workshop will cover various aspects related to digitalization in tax administrations, continuing discussions and knowledge exchange on how digitalization can support tax administrations in achieving compliance by design by simplifying and accelerating tax-related processes.
Over three days, participants will delve into the nuances of digital upgrading, exploring challenges, best practices, and future prospects. The agenda features sessions on current digitalization strategies, global perspectives, and long-term planning, culminating in collaborative exercises to envision and present modernization plans. Through this comprehensive program, attendees will gain valuable insights into navigating the digital landscape of tax administration effectively.
We will focus on the experiences and plans of the International Monetary Fund, as well as zoom into the developments and challenges faced by participants and other relevant institutions in the wider region, such as the Netherlands Tax Administration.

The workshop has been designed for officials involved in various business processes within tax administrations, including tax registration, compliance risk management, auditing, services, and IT specialists.

Practical information
Travel, accommodation and hospitality costs for up to two selected participants from Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina (up to three), Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Georgia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Türkiye, and Ukraine will be covered by the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands, the Ministry of Finance of the Slovakia, and Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia.
