On-site Supervision

Apr 15 – 17, 2025 CEF, Ljubljana, Slovenia No Fee

About this learning event

At this event, participants will explore on-site supervision from both organizational and practical perspectives, gaining essential skills to plan, organize, and conduct on-site missions effectively while presenting their findings with confidence. The program delves into a range of topics through interactive sessions and practical case studies, dynamically tailored to the audience’s needs.

The event begins with an analysis of the Great Financial Crisis as the turning point for the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). In the first two sessions, participants will explore the evolution of the supervisory framework, the role of the SSM, and the European Central Bank’s supervisory guidelines. The journey continues with a focus on translating ideas and supervisory priorities into actionable on-site inspection (OSI) requests, alongside insights into quality assurance and meticulous planning.

Subsequent sessions provide a detailed examination of organizing on-site inspections, covering key stakeholders, roles, responsibilities, and defining objectives. Participants will then dive into the practical execution of OSIs, getting acquainted with the different phases of an OSI, exploring inspection techniques and methodologies, and drafting inspection reports through hands-on case studies.

The event will familiarize participants with market conduct and prudential supervision, focusing on key trends, challenges, and priorities. Discussions will cover supervisory tasks, on-site supervision of internal governance, and risk management. Legal requirements and best practices will be explored through case studies.
