About this learning event

This webinar series will facilitate knowledge exchange between public officials from ministries of finance and line ministries, aiming to enhance collaboration and strategic integration of climate actions within public institutions. We will discuss best practices in designing and implementing climate actions, emphasizing the importance of strategic development of people, and establishing partnerships to accelerate the green transition.

Through a sequence of three webinars, we will delve into the following key topics:

Organizational Culture as an Inclusive Approach to Climate Change, May 13th
The first session will explore the role of organizational culture in fostering inclusivity within government efforts to combat climate change as a shared responsibility across all departments, not just those directly involved in environmental policies. We will discuss how leaders can drive cultural shifts within ministries to embed climate action into the fabric of public administration, encouraging cross-departmental collaboration and fostering innovation for the green transition.

Regional Partnerships in Support of Capacity Development, May 20th
The second session will address the growing need for regional cooperation in tackling climate change. By looking at successful regional partnerships, participants will understand how collective action across borders can enhance capacity-building efforts. Key topics will include leveraging regional networks to overcome common challenges.

Strategic Human Resource Management and Climate Action, June 10th
The final session will focus on how strategic human resource management can support climate action at a governmental level. It will explore how public institutions can build the necessary skills and competencies within their teams to drive climate goals. Discussions will cover the alignment of HR policies with environmental objectives, recruitment and training for climate-specific skills, and fostering leadership in climate-related roles.
