About this learning event

This webinar is part of the WeWrite series that help young public officials upscale their competencies in policy analysis, communication, and writing policy notes. In line with the Methodological Guidelines for Writing Policy Papers, participants will discuss policy analysis and how they have implemented it in their work and the context of the policy problem they tackle. In alignment with the Methodological Guidelines for Writing Policy Papers, this session will focus on policy analysis, with participants discussing how they have applied these methodologies to their work and the specific policy issues they are addressing.

To provide further insight into the process, a mentee and mentor from Cohort 1 will deliver a comprehensive presentation on their own policy paper. They will walk the participants through each stage of their work, from the initial problem definition to the final analysis. This presentation will serve as a practical example of how the guidelines and methodologies can be effectively implemented. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for attendees to engage in a Q&A session, allowing them to seek clarification and gain deeper insights from the experiences shared.

Following this, each of the eight mentees will present their analysis of the policy problem they have been working on. These presentations will highlight the participants' understanding of their chosen policy issues, focusing on how they have defined the problem and approached its analysis. The session will include a dedicated Q&A segment, where mentors and fellow participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback, ask questions, and offer recommendations for further improvement.

To conclude the webinar, the lead mentor will provide clear guidance on the next steps in the writing process. This will include key milestones, expectations, and the overall trajectory for the development of their policy papers moving forward.
