About this learning event

This blended learning program is tailored for public sector auditors seeking to enhance essential analytical skills. Participants will learn to employ appropriate techniques for gathering information, apply data analysis methods effectively, and master data visualization techniques. Moreover, the program will delve into critical thinking strategies essential for synthesizing and evaluating information, leading to well-founded conclusions and recommendations.

Furthermore, participants will explore the utilization of computer-assisted techniques in audit engagements, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), and the significance of ensuring independence throughout the audit process.

Participants of this blended learning activity will participate in two highly-interactive and participatory webinars focused on honing key analytical skills. Additionally, the culmination of the activity will be a workshop designed to further enhance participants' analytical capacities.

During this blended learning event, you will:

  • Learn different methods and tools for effective data collection in various audit scenarios.
  • Acquire skills in applying data analysis techniques to extract meaningful insights from audit data.
  • Gain proficiency in visualizing audit data to enhance communication and comprehension.
  • Apply critical thinking to draw sound conclusions and make informed recommendations based on audit evidence.
  • Gain hands-on experience with tools and technologies that support computer-assisted audit techniques (CAATs).
  • Discuss practical applications of AI in auditing and identify areas where AI can enhance audit procedures.
  • Learn strategies and best practices to ensure independence at every stage of the audit engagement.
  • Develop skills in preparing clear and concise audit reports.

Who should attend

Experienced public sector internal and external auditors. We will invite participants from the Performance Auditing workshop delivered in February 2023 to participate at the follow-up initiative.

Practical information

Participants are expected to take an active part in this activity. The success of the workshop is directly dependent on the participants’ active engagement in the discussions and group work. In view of the interactive nature of the event, the participants are required to have:

  • A good command of the English language as there are no interpretation services planned
  • Stable internet connection
  • Microphone and a web camera
