IT Risk Management
About this learning event
As technology continues to advance and the public sector becomes more digitalized, public institutions face new risks that need to be identified and effectively managed. We will explore the principles of IT risk management, define the roles and responsibilities of IT risk managers, and explore how to cultivate and communicate about the IT risk awareness culture in public institutions. We will also examine the relationship between risk management and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting.
Participants in this online course will engage in two focused units. Unit 1 will cover the principles of IT Risk Management and the associated roles and responsibilities. Unit 2 will delve into identifying and managing critical IT risks, effective communication of these risks, fostering risk awareness, and integrating reporting.
During this course, you will:
- Identify and describe key IT risks associated with the digitalization of public institutions
- Define the specific principles, roles, and responsibilities in IT risk management
- Learn to integrate IT risks into audit processes
- Explore strategies for effectively managing, communicating, and reporting IT risks within public institutions
- Understand the importance of fostering a proactive approach to risk management
- Understand how IT risk management contributes to broader organizational governance

Public sector IT auditors, internal auditors, and external auditors. Also risk management coordinators are welcome to apply.
