CEF Tax Coordinators' Meeting: Developing Knowledge Sharing Culture

This meeting is part of the initiative for developing a knowledge sharing culture in tax administrations, started in 2021. A series of meetings will help participants recognize the numerous benefits that knowledge sharing brings to every individual, team, and institution. Participatory meetings offer Tax Coordinators a platform for developing ideas, sharing knowledge, and learning from each other. In doing so, we aim to help them strengthen their capacity for systematic knowledge sharing in the long term. As we know that internal readiness for such changes needs to be built patiently, we want to continue with such practice also in next years.

What will you learn

As knowledge sharing is an important aspect of knowledge management that contributes to enhancing organizational learning, enhances employees’ performance, and improves cooperation between organizations and individuals, we will help participants recognize that learning and knowledge sharing are crucial sources of value creation in each institution.

During the first two meetings, we identified the most crucial topics, which need to be addressed for bridging the gap in achieving institutional knowledge-sharing. After addressing IT development, existence, and operational use of an information system or IT components, this meeting will focus on the development of staff.

Through different activities, we will help participants recognize best practices for developing staff capacities. Moreover, we will discuss the relationship between strengthening capacities and knowledge sharing. Participants will discuss how knowledge-sharing needs to be developed as a mental model change and how this would impact positively the attitude and behavior of an institution's personnel.

Participants will have an active role from the beginning until the end of the learning process by being engaged in agenda design, preparations, and delivery. This will enable them to address their real needs, help learn from peers’ experience, and build their own learning loops.

The learning process during the meeting will be supplemented by hosting experts. They will help develop participants’ ideas.
