Bosnia and Herzegovina became the sixth country that signed the agreement on establishing the CEF as an international organization. Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Nikola Špirić, signed the agreement in Sarajevo on November 27, 2013.

The process of the CEF becoming an international organization was officially launched on September 3, 2013 in Bled, Slovenia when five countries – Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Slovenia – signed the agreement on establishing the Center of Excellence in Finance as an international organization. The agreement will enter into force once at least three countries deposit their instruments of ratification and a headquarters agreement between the CEF and the Republic of Slovenia is concluded.

More countries are expected to join the agreement. The next will be Moldova, signing the agreement on December 11, 2013 in Ljubljana.
