Following the successful implementation of the first part of TIAPS Montenegro, the CEF in cooperation with the UK-based Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy and the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro will continue to deliver the project through 2014. The project runs under the auspices of the joint initiative of the German and Slovenian government in the framework of the Stability Pact to support the public finance reforms in the Western Balkans region. The German government allocates the new grant of 100,000 euros to offer the professional qualification training program for Montenegrin public sector internal auditors in line with the best international practices and standards.
Director of the CEF Mira Dobovišek noted, “We are delighted to receive the German government’s support for TIAPS Montenegro and for their continuous trust in the CEF. We take pride in this project and are committed to its further success.”
The expected long-term outcome of the TIAPS project is to achieve an independently and sustainably running program in Montenegro once the project completes. It aims at identifying, training and involving selected local tutors, who will be the driving force behind enhancing the internal auditing profession in Montenegro also in the future.
