The new book published by the Slovene Association of Economists (Zveza ekonomistov Slovenije) was well received by renowned Slovene experts, academics and public finance practitioners. The book launch was followed by a roundtable discussion on the role of fiscal rules. The authors Helena Kamnar and Neven Borak were joined by other prominent guest speakers, including Tine Stanovnik, Full Professor of Economics from Ljubljana Faculty of Economics, Miro Cerar, Professor of Law from Ljubljana Faculty of Law, and Žarko Lazarević, Historian at the Institute of Contemporary History.

About the authors
Helena Kamnar, MSc, is Advisor to the President of the Republic of Slovenia on Economic and Social Issues, with 35 years of working experience mainly in public finance. She has worked at the Ministry of Finance for 12 years. During her career she has worked also as Senior Advisor at the Court of Audit of the Republic of Slovenia, dealing with the performance audit system. Between her terms as State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance she spent four years working as Vice Rector at the University of Ljubljana, responsible for economic affairs. In 2010 she was appointed Secretary General of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia. She was also a member of the Negotiating Team for Accession of Slovenia to the European Union.
Neven Borak, PhD, is Strategic Analyst and Advisor to the Governor of Bank of Slovenia. He holds a PhD in Finance from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Maribor, and a PhD in History from Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. Between 2002 and 2008 he was Director of the Securities Market Agency. In 2009 he was appointed Strategic Analyst and Advisor to the Governor of Bank of Slovenia. He has written numerous professional and academic articles, analysis reports and publications on different areas of economics and economic history.
