High Level Dialogue on Tax Administration and Tax Compliance

Heads of tax administrations from South East European (SEE) countries and their deputies will meet with the donor agencies that are supporting modernization efforts across the SEE region on December 13, 2013 at the CEF to discuss the progress made in tax administration reforms in SEE Europe.

The main objective of the forthcoming High Level Dialogue is to discuss the current challenges for tax administrations in the region along with possible responses to these challenges, and to exchange experiences and views on how to move regional tax systems closer to EU and OECD norms.

In this context experts from the International Monetary Fund, Dutch Ministry of Finance and academia will provide their views on why some of the strategic tax administration reforms have been difficult to manage, and what are the potential means to overcome these challenges. New developments in Compliance Risk Management will also be presented together with an economic-psychological perspective on improving tax compliance.
