Notes for editors:
Georgia is in a process of developing a transparent and efficient control system of public finance that complies with international standards and incorporates the central pillars of Public Internal Financial Control System, such as Financial Management and Control, Internal Audit and Central Harmonization Unit. The Georgian Ministry of Finance (MoF) is in charge for steering and harmonizing the reform process across all ministries and public sector entities. Against this background, the study visit aimed to share lessons learnt with the Georgian MoF and line ministries on what a successful reform process requires, give information on internal audit implementation, generate ideas on challenges and opportunities in the Georgian context, and explore ways of a further exchange between Georgia and Slovenia.
