The director of the CEF, Ms. Mira Dobovišek, hosted Mr. Ralph Brinkhaus, Deputy Chair for Budgetary, Financial and Municipal Politics in Bundestag and Mr. Jakob Haselhuber, Deputy Chief of Mission at German Embassy in Ljubljana. The CEF and Germany successfully cooperate in development projects in the region of South East Europe. At the meeting possibilities to strengthen cooperation were explored.

The CEF acts as a platform for management of change. The CEF with its capacity building activities is helping create a predictable environment including stable legal and taxation systems that contribute to raising employment and strengthening of countries’ economies and public administration. At the meeting Mr. Brinkhaus was briefed on CEF activities in the region and the public financial management and central banking developments in the CEF constituency; more particularly the introduction of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) in the SEE countries was discussed. We agreed to remain in contact to adequately approach the challenges of the financial management reforms in SEE.

Currently the CEF and German Government Stability Pact cooperate in the framework of CIPFA certified Training of Internal Auditors in the Public Sector in Montenegro where the German Stability Pact guaranties funding while the CEF together with the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro offers to the program in-kind support. The CEF is also closely cooperating with the German experts from GIZ in delivery of workshops in the thematic areas of budgeting, taxation and accounting.
